      Settings

      Volume
      Drone
      Click

The top slider is everything; the two below trim the drone and the metronome against it.

      Metronome pitch

Semitones from where the click normally sits — down to keep it under what you are playing, up to hear it over a room. It sounds once as you let go, unless the metronome is already running.

      You play

      In tune means

Sets the green band on the tuner and what counts as in tune in every report.

      Microphone

Off by default: the microphone is handed back the moment nothing is listening, so the orange light is on only while the tuner is running or a take is recording. Staying ready holds it open instead — slightly quicker to start, at the cost of that light staying lit the whole time.

      Screen

On by default: the display stays on the whole time the app is open, so it doesn't dim in the middle of a passage. A take carries on recording either way, even if the screen locks.

      Appearance

System follows your device's light/dark setting.

      Background

Stills the color behind the glass if the drift is distracting.

      Your camera

Scan a page and this will say what the camera gave.

      Your practice history

      Counting…

The backup holds every take's notes, timing and landings — the part the coach reads — plus folders and passages. Audio is left out to keep the file small; share individual takes from the library instead.

      Privacy

Your recordings never leave this device. They are stored by the browser, on the phone or computer you played them on. There is no account, no server and nothing to sign into — once the app has loaded it makes no network requests at all, so there is nowhere for a take to go.

The microphone is open only while you are on the Tuner tab or recording, and is handed back when you leave. Nothing listens in the background.

The only things that ever leave are the ones you send yourself: sharing a take, exporting a WAV, or saving a backup file. Because everything lives in this browser, clearing its data — or deleting the app — deletes your recordings too, so keep a backup of anything you would miss.

Reopens the screen you saw the first time, where you pick what you play. Your takes and settings are untouched.

Ten short stops — the dial, Record, the count-in and the note-by-note review, the Library, putting a part on the stand, folders and setlists, the reader, the coach, the metronome, and Settings.

Puts every preference back. Your recordings, folders and saved presets are untouched.

      Page pedal

Bluetooth page turners pair as keyboards, so any of them works here with nothing to set up — pair it in iPad Settings, open a score, and press it. If yours sends something this does not know, teach it below.

Built-in keys: arrows, page up and page down, space and return.

      Apple Pencil

Draws with the pencil for four seconds and says what this device reported — pressure, tilt, whether the fast samples arrive, whether a resting palm is turned away, and whether anything on the page got highlighted.

      Sound

Plays four clicks and says what this device did with them — whether the audio is awake, which route it is on, and where the levels are.

      Microphone

Asks this device for the microphone and says exactly what came back — useful when the tuner or a recording will not start.
